Falling
September 20, 2003
Barbara
I fell this week. I had lost 27 pounds and was completely faithful to eating only when hungry and stopping when close to full. Until Friday.
I did very well this week with my eating. I even began to imagine I had started flying above the food. I DID FLY above one day. Friday was like all the others–when my co-worker came and asked if I was going to the dining room for lunch at 12:30, I declined as after my doctor appointment, as I gone to Starbucks for a frappacino and maple scone.
I got home and was hungry around 5 so I had part of a piece of pizza. Then, we dropped Jenn off at her cousin’s house and went to meet Deb and Jason at the show.
I was determined not to get popcorn because I love it too much. But I did buy some and did not heed the voice in my heart saying “Wait, and I’ll let you have some.” I ate it and some Dots too. Not all mind you, but I didn’t wait for hunger for the first time in 13 weeks. For the first time in 13 weeks I also gained 3 pounds.
I know that it’s just a blip and I have repented to Jesus. He has forgiven me. But I wanted to post this to encourage you all to keep going on, even if you fall. Jesus loves us and He will be there even when we don’t do as well as we’d hoped. Just let Him extend His hand and help you up.

Baby, I remember from the days I used to be able to hike in the mountains that I never once followed a trail that at some point didn’t make me feel as if I were going down instead of to the top! As long as you keep your eyes on the trail in front of you the journey will take you where you have set out to go. I am very proud of the journey you have travled so far and have NO doubt that you will reach you’re goal! Love you sooooo much.

Maybe you two should get a room.
Just getting back at you Mark.
Barb, Keep with the plan. Stay the course and you will have lots more flying days and lots less falling days. Thanks for encouraging the rest of us.
Love ya both, Debbie

Thanks, Barb. Once again your encouraging words came just at the right time. I was beginning to think this wasn’t going to work for me, but I will keep on keepin on.
