When it rains…

July 31, 2003 Barbara

Well, it has been a while since I’ve been here. The internet at work has been up and down and very undependable. I have been working on a web-based project and can’t depend on it to stay up for more than a half hour. We apparently were hit with a virus that tells you “cannot find server”, no matter where you try to go.

My kids were with their dad for 3 weeks until last Thursday and I took that opportunity (few responsibilities) to work my butt off. I worked full-time at SCPH and then almost every evening and weekend at the tax office. I was so tired, when the kids came home, I needed a vacation. I didn’t go down to the tax office at all during the week.

My baby (11 year old) came home from dad’s with a tooth ache. Tuesday, he got to have a root canal. Then, of course my car broke down and had to be hospitalized for 3 days. Then, the shower backed up and when Mark was trying to snake it, opened up a pipe joint so our shower water was running out on the ground under the coach. When it rains, it pours.

Well the insurance paid most of the $745.00 root canal. The car problem wasn’t covered by the warranty but was only $210.99 (thanks Lord for credit cards) and a dear person from our old church came over and fixed the plumbing problem for almost nothing (same repair cost us $600 last year.) Bless you James! God is Good!!

Despite all the above, I feel good. I feel encouraged by our group meeting Sunday night. It was great, intense, and so open! I love you guys! It was fun to have visitors too, especially ones with such charming accents.

I pray for the continued openess and participation that we had on Sunday. We are trully becoming a community!
